Netcom help to boost legendary, local and live Rockstock festival experience

Rockstock has praised a successful 2026 partnership with Netcom Events after they provided site-wide Wi-Fi connectivity for the first time at this year’s event.

Held at Overstrand Sports Club on 18 July, the popular annual festival partnered with Netcom to provide a dedicated wireless network across the entire site, enabling the ticket office, bars, food vendors and merchandise stalls to accept fast, reliable card and mobile payments throughout the day. The new technology gave visitors greater choice in how they paid, while helping traders and festival organisers operate more efficiently.

Festival organiser Bill Knights said the partnership had made a significant difference.

“Being able to accept card payments anywhere on site made life easier for everyone. Visitors expect to pay by card or phone now, and the new system meant we could even sell tickets on the gate without any issues. Merchandise was flying off the shelves, traders really appreciated the reliable connectivity, and the whole arrangement worked exceptionally well. We’re grateful to Netcom for helping make this year’s festival such a success.”

The connectivity was delivered by Netcom Events, the specialist event networking division of
Norfolk-based Netcom Group, which designs and installs temporary high-performance internet infrastructure for festivals, sporting events, exhibitions and other large-scale public gatherings.

Ashley Cooper of Netcom said dependable connectivity is now an essential part of delivering successful outdoor events.

“People expect seamless connectivity wherever they go, but providing that on temporary event sites can be challenging,” he said. “We deploy our own infrastructure to create fast, secure and reliable Wi-Fi networks, even in remote locations. It was a pleasure to support Rockstock this year and demonstrate how robust connectivity can improve the experience for organisers, traders and visitors alike.”

The 2026 festival showcased how effective event connectivity can support cashless payments, streamline operations and enhance the overall visitor experience.

Planning is already underway for an even bigger celebration in 2027, when Rockstock marks its 20th anniversary. The festival returns to Overstrand Sports Club on Saturday 17 July 2027, with
exciting plans already under way to make the milestone event the biggest and best yet.
